New Year Update on the Advanced Productions
After reviewing your online portfolios please respond to the following issues that apply to all of you in varying degrees (I will highlight those which especially apply to you individually in lessons):
Animatics: at least two of these are required with a clear amount of evaluation and audience feedback
Audience Research: a previous post supported this but there is no clear evidence that the techniques suggested have been trialled
First Footage; this is either not posted or posted with minimum evaluation; please reflect on your first pieces of filmed and photographed work in terms of intended effect and Genre
Genre: After our work on this I expect more material reflecting on your intentions in this regard (remember this is also an exam topic s a 'win-win')
Representation: after an initial post a reflection on this theme is rather lacking in your blogs; have you fallen prey to any 'false consciousness' in your first decisions?
Media Language: this should be a running theme in the posts as you adapt, refine and adjust your use of various devices and codes; it is not at present
Real Media Contexts: A consideration of what the nearest 'real media' rival to your work is; what makes it different and what changes you have made and why- this applies to everyone
Avoiding too much text: many of you are using more software in order to present ideas; more variety is still required (sound files and vodcasts are still rarely sighted)
This will be reviewed by Tuesday 13th January; please address the above by then.
